The holidays are a special time of year, and the City of Dublin hosts many festive, long-standing traditions which bring the community together. The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Breakfast with Santa are joyful events in which families come together in celebration. The Warm Wishes Gift Drive helps to bring a little joy to those less fortunate in our community .
36th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
Thursday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m.Dublin Civic Center, 100 Civic Plaza
Celebrate the start of the holiday season with the traditional lighting of the tree at the Dublin Civic Center. Enjoy lively seasonal entertainment along with cookies and hot cocoa after the performance. This year's entertainment includes the Dublin High School Choir and the Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County. Also, be on the lookout for a surprise appearance by a very special visitor from the North Pole!

Hands-On History: Holiday Activities
Saturday, December 7
Heritage Park and Museums, 6600 Donlon Way
Create old-fashioned holiday decorations for your home, and take a guided tour of the Kolb House. See how the house was decorated by the Kolb family for their annual holiday celebrations during the early 20th century, and learn how they celebrated with their family and friends. Fun for the whole family!

"Deck the Homes" Holiday Decorating Contest
Deadline to Enter: Friday, December 6
The City of Dublin invites residents to participate in the City's first Holiday Home Decorating Contest. Homes will be chosen for Best Use of Lights, Best Lawn Display, and Best Holiday Theme, as well as Best Overall for its curb appeal. Judging will take place December 11-13, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Winners will be notified on December 17. View the contest flyer and complete the entry form and deliver it to Shannon Community Center (11600 Shannon Avenue) by Friday, December 6.
Breakfast with Santa

Santa Claus is coming to Dublin! Families are invited to enjoy a delicious hot pancake breakfast served with sausage, fruit, coffee, and juice, followed by the much anticipated arrival of Santa Claus. Register early as this event which benefits the Dublin High School Irish Guard and Music Program is always a sell-out. Santa will be available for holiday photos after each breakfast.
*A vegan breakfast option will also be available.
$14 Residents/$17 Non-Residents, per person, all ages
Seatings are at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.

Celebrate the season with friends at this annual event which will get you on your feet. Whirl your partner around an expansive dance floor while listening to music performed by a live band. Enjoy refreshments and drawings for door prizes.

2019 Warm Wishes Gift Drive
Dublin's employee organization coordinates this community-wide charitable donation effort to provide holiday gifts to neighbors in need. To help, pick up a gift tag at City Hall or choose a wish online and return your wrapped gift to City Hall, Shannon Community Center, or the Senior Center by December 9 at 5:00 p.m. We’ll see that your gift is delivered in time to brighten the holiday season.
