April 18, 2018 - August 19, 2018 @ Dublin Heritage Park & Museums
Discover how local farmers contributed to California surpassing Wisconsin as the nation's leading dairy state. Local farmers and their families did it all, from growing the feed for the cows to processing the milk into cream, butter, and cheese to marketing and delivering it to consumers. Individual farmers joined together to form cooperatives in the early 1900s. Dublin also played a part in the development of modern, scientific mass production and mass distribution, with the Foremost Dairy Research Center, which opened in 1966. See vintage milk bottles, cartons, bottle caps, and modern dairy equipment, some on loan from the California State Parks Dairy Collection.

During the 1940s and 1950s, Navy Nurses and Red Cross workers served important roles at Camp Parks and neighboring Shoemaker Hospital, a 3,000-bed facility which provided care for almost 46,000 patients during World War II. This exhibit salutes the women who helped to heal, comfort and transition injured sailors and Marines back to civilian life in a dynamic post-War world. On display are original Nurse and Red Cross uniforms, medical equipment, therapy artifacts and photos.
